MAAN - At the invitation of the Maan Municipality Mayor Dr. Akram Kreishan, HE Dr. Talal AbuGhazaleh paid a visit to the Maan Governorate to discuss the requirements and provision of community ,development technical knowledge and service projects in the governorate. 

Accompanied by HE Dr. Jawad Anani, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s visit covered a number of activities including  visits to the Governor of Maan HE Mr. Ahmad Al Omoush, President of Al-Hussein bin Talal University Dr. Najeeb Abu Karaki, Dean of the Faculty of Maan University College Dr. Sattam Al Khatib in adddition to a visit to the Maan Municipality.

Various problems and challenges afflicting the region were tackled during his visit, with special emphasis on the importance of continuous economic and social development in the governorate using the best tools for knowledge development.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh met members of the Maan Municipal Council during a panel discussion as well  as youth from the governorate to discuss a number of issues that concern the community of Maan.

Accordingly, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh decided to establish a number of developmental projects and offer community services in the governorate, most importantly the establishment of a branch of Talal Abu- Ghazaleh Academy which will house a center for conducting Cambridge English Language Assessment courses and exams part of the University of Cambridge) due to the importance of the English language in the labor market(.

It was also agreed to establish an ICT training center to provide training programs, particularly e-marketing via social networks for the benefit of the people in the region.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh affirmed his eagerness at serving the youth and disseminating knowledge among them noting that, “Love of homeland is not about raising slogans, yet, it’s about becoming knowledge individuals and producers”.

Meanwhile, he provided instructions for producing a specia news program for the activities of the governorate to be aired on Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Business and Culture Radio Station (TAGBC. 102.7 FM).

Moreover, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh pledged to establish two knowledge stations, to be located according to the preferences of the people in the region,  which will offer training programs in English and ICT in accordance with the royal directives in paying more attention and consideration to the Jordanian governorates.

For his part, during the panel discussion, Dr. Anani praised  Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s endless efforts and achievements towards community service and  underlined the role of the Maani youth in leading quality development mainly in the field of creativity.
