AMMAN – In its meeting, the Higher Steering Committee of the 6th Medical Tourism World Summit, Conference and Expo, chaired by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), endorsed the agenda, programs and events that will take place during the Conference that will convene in Amman in mid-October 2021.
The Conference, that will be held under the auspices of Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, HE Mr. Nayef Al-Fayez, is organized by Pioneers Road Company in cooperation with TAG.Global and the strategic partner, the Arab Medical Center (AMC). A number of topics will be discussed including: Jordan as an Investment Hub for the Healthcare Sector, Global Medical Tourism Economics and Third Party Referrals, Importance of Accreditation in Developing Healthcare Travel, Global Need for Wellness Treatment After COVID-19 Break, and other related topics. That is in addition to B2B meetings and tours of medical healthcare buyers to Jordanian hospitals.
The Conference, organized under the patronage of Ministries of Health, Tourism and Antiquities, Industry, Trade & Supply, in addition to Jordan Tourism Board, seeks to provide stakeholders in the Jordanian healthcare sector with the most important developments in global medical tourism, and to shed light on the competitiveness of the Jordanian healthcare sector.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh affirmed that medical tourism in Jordan has a promising future, and that the conference would reveal the opportunities and the challenges that face this important sector.
He further underlined Jordan’s excellence in the healthcare sector in terms of the solid medical infrastructure that includes hospitals, efficient and distinguished healthcare cadres in different medical disciplines, and the availability of medicines and medical supplies that match those in developed countries. He urged that “we have to stand out in this competitive world armed with the great potentials of the Jordanian medical sector”.
Additionally, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh pointed out the importance of this sector and its role in boosting the Jordanian economy, as well as the effective contribution of the tourism sector and medical tourism to the Gross National Product (GNP). He affirmed the economic, medical and cultural importance of the Conference, calling for seizing this opportunity to make plans for patients’ companions to learn more about the Kingdom’s history and its various tourist attractions by visiting such sites while in the country.
For his part, Pioneers Road CEO, Mr. Ayman Arikat, said that the Conference would bring together relevant stakeholders who will sign agreements and Memorandums of Understanding. He further added that on the sideline of the Conference, an exhibition and will arrange business meetings in addition to organizing tours to hospitals, medical facilities, pharmaceutical companies and health insurance companies throughout the Kingdom.
He also mentioned that the Conference will be attended by a large number of decision-makers, buyers and representatives from several Arab and global health insurance companies. That is in addition to the Arab and global tourist companies from Arab and foreign countries including Algeria, Morocco, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and the United States of America.
